Balancing a successful career and family life is already a challenge—but adding a demanding training schedule and competitions on top of it takes things to another level. That’s exactly why I chose Stacey as our Member Spotlight for September! She embodies the qualities of a truly successful individual: determination, grit, leadership, a positive mindset, and a strong drive toward helping her team (BrickO’s Drafters). Let’s take a closer look at Stacey’s story and celebrate some of her impressive accomplishments.

Who is Stacey? (BrickO) She is a wife to Tom, Mother, step mother to 4 children, competitor on 2 two wheels and a coach for BrickO’s Drafters!
BrickO Started her journey as a Physical Therapist, Athletic Trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach for UW Sports Medicine. She then decided to pursue her PhD in Exercise Physiology and joined the academics ranks as a UW-Madison professor and instructor at Madison College. Somewhere along the way she dabbled in industry working in spine and biologics with Medtronic. Currently a USA Cycling Level 1 coach for Draft Responsibly Coaching.

Accomplishments in Sport
BrickO has competed in many triathlons between 1995-2007, including 6 Ironman.
Some of those include:
1995 Great Floridian
1996 Ironman Canada
1997 Vineman CA (5th overall, first age group
2002 Ironman Wisconsin
2005 Ironman Switzerland
2007 Ironman Hawaii
She has also completed 8 Birkebeiner XC races, none quickly.
Now she enjoys all things cycling- road, gravel, mountain and fat tire bike. She has raced all sorts of crazy endurance and ultra endurance events. Here are some of the most challenging in the past 10 years:
LoToJa 2016: a one day stage race from Logan Utah to Jackson Hole Wyoming 202 miles, 5th
Route Haute Norway 2018: 3 day stage race, 3rd age group
Race Across the West Relay 2022 (1000 miles from CA to CO)
Mallorca 312 2023 (8th overall)
Leadville 100 MTB race 2025 (didn’t die, earned a buckle-very challenging!)
Horribly Hilly Hundreds: 21 time finisher, 19 200K
Several Fat Tire Birkies and Cheq (40 age group podiums), Unbound 100 (5th age group) , Big Sugar 100 (1st age group).
Greatest cycling achievement: drafting nearly 200 BrickO’s Drafters, a community of cyclists who put one another first, and cycling a close second.
