Nutrition: The Grain Brain

Nutrition and eating can be a hard subject for a lot of us struggling with weight loss and lifestyle change. There seems to be a lot of answers in multiple directions on how to help with change and adapt into a ‘healthier’ body but the same outcome. How can we take permanent action and change our lives into something better?

Continuing my own education and skills in the arena of nutrition has been an on going process for a long time. It is both frustrating and exciting to break old habits so that I not only can become strong and lean but prevent against unfortunate illnesses.

Part of that education process has been through a book called, “The Grain Brain” by Dr. David Perlmutter M.D

If you haven’t heard or read this book, I highly recommend doing so because it will change your life and the way you look at food!

This New York Times #1 Best Seller talks about the truth behind the detrimental effects of wheat, sugar and carbohydrates on the brain. This book explains how each of these foods effect our bodies and how they cause havoc to our hormones for the long-term!

I highly recommend adding this book to your arsenal as you continue to your lifelong journey to great health!

Putting yourself in a position for improvement with weekly goals, surrounding yourself with healthier individuals and having a positive mindset are my keys to a smarter lifestyle.
