Cleanse your body for a better workout

When it comes to a great workout all cylinders are firing, you’re having a great time, things are clicking! Prepping for what I call “game time” is important with highly nutrtious foods throughout the day/night. I want to mention a few things that I learned to keep me focused and high on energy for a great workout!

For those of you in the 8-week Meal Makeover Challenge, this can be a great addition to your daily/weekly plan of action in the kitchen:

Flu Shot/Immunity Booster:

3 Kale Leaves

1/2 Bunch Parsley

1/2 Cucumber

1 Celery Ribs

1 Small Apples

1/2 Lemon Squeezed

*Mix with 1/2 cup to 1 cup of Almond Milk or water (depending on thickness and taste) and blend in blender or magic bullet.

*Feel free to add or subtract exact amounts based on taste (the most important idea is that you get these nutrients in your body)


Having trouble with Quinoa?

Add a few of these things to add flavor…

Per 1/2 cup cooked Quinoa:

1 Bunch Chopped Parsley

1/4 Cup Chopped Onion

1/2 Cucumber

1/4 Cup Chopped Cherry Tomatoes

1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Juice of 1/2 Lime

Ground Black Pepper

*Lightly Saute veggies in Olive Oil in separte pan and add to cooked quinoa
